The Macau Government launched the draft of "The implementation of judicial assistance to civil servants. It suggests using public funds on litigation issues. Which means civil servants will be eligible to use public funds to raise any civil or criminal litigation issues. It triggered widespread social controversy! Can this proposed law really protect the front-line civil servants? Or it is a timed blockbuster of senior official to the public? Will this law affect the freedom of the press? Will this law create the crisis of confidence between the government and the public? “Civil Roundtable” is a monthly seminar organized by Macau Civil Power. It offers a platform for experts, academics, and the general public to discuss public affairs in a free, interactive, and dynamic environment.
